For the table settings - we carried over the simple, understated details from cocktail hour, bringing in the capiz shells stamped as table numbers, lemons and color palette. The menus flipped over with fun facts about Andrew & I - we wanted the guests to feel very involved in this personal affair. We also brought in our monogram from our fabulous invitation suite on the flower vases.
On of the most meaningful moments of the evening was our first dance. It still gives me chills thinking about it. My dad is one of my favorite people in the world. I admire his love of life - his love for the simple pleasures in life and his ability to make any day the best day ever. He is a natural entertainer {most Irishmen are} and as a child, my favorite thing in the world was hearing him play his guitar for us. Take that back, that is STILL my favorite thing in the world. So when I asked him to play our first song, I knew it would be hard for McSappy {our endearing nickname for the old man} to say no. I will be forever thankful for him, and I am so glad I have this memory.
And of course there is cake. Sarah of TRUE Event pulled together a fabulous display incorporating the striped linens from cocktail hour. The clear risers kept with the chic theme, and I have to mention the fabulous garland is none other than a Hank + Hunt garland. It was absolutely perfect. Jenny also gave us fabric to use on the risers for another pop of color! I also changed into my "getaway dress" at this point of the evening - which was a surprise to everyone but one of my bridesmaids :)
And then we danced, boy did we dance. It was such a fun night. A HUGE shout out to our wonderful band - The Black Tie Band, to say they were great would be an understatement. And of course, there was Smilebooth. Nice, awkward pictures from Smilebooth = a perfect night.
And then it was time for our exit, I purchased a bunch of pom poms from the University of Tennessee {my alma mater} and we ran out to Rocky Top. A nice fun way to end the evening.
Can you believe we aren't done yet? There is still a buying guide coming your way {which I may save for tomorrow - don't want to overload your day!}
