Happy Halloween!

Here's to a safe, sinful and stylish Halloween!

{via}

How do you plan on spending today? Do tell. We plan on pumpkin carving,becoming the cool house on the block (by letting kids take handfuls of candy) and enjoying an adult beverage or two. Happy Halloween indeed.

P.S. I need that pumpkin chandelier.

Happy Weekend {+Friday Favs!}

It's been quite the week, hasn't it? I really have no words. It still seems surreal that our wedding was in the spot light on Style Me Pretty and your out pouring of love has just been priceless. Thank you for all of your sweet comments and questions. And have no fear - I plan on making next week Wedding Week to answer each of your questions detail by detail. From inspiration to reality :)

{Leila Brewster of Olive Juice via Style Me Pretty}

This weekend is a big one in the Super Burbs - aka trick or treat capital of New England {that's a lie, I just made that up - but we get A LOT of kids}. I will be on wedding duty on Saturday, so it's Mr. C's job to buy the candy for Halloween. It's a big task.  I think he is nervous. You do NOT want to be the house with the lame candy. Or even worse, run out...the horror.  Regardless of that rant, I just about fell out of my chair when I saw this fabulous shoot from Brancoprata. This is what Halloween should look if you ask me.

{The fab dream team that is Brancoprata}

Keeping with the orange theme for Halloween - I just fell in complete love with this stationery set I spotted on Oh Joy! from Pinhole Press...this goes under the need file for sure.

{Oh Joy! from Pinhole Press}

And I just spotted this round of white Halloween goodness on Postcards and Pretties.  It is perfection. I LOVE white pumpkins.

{spotted on Postcards and Pretties}

What's on your agenda for the weekend? Parties? Dressing up? Hanging on the couch with a bottle of wine? Regardless, I hope it's spectacular!

Miss y'all already!

Abby

Fonts.

I have a huuuugggeee soft spot in my heart for fonts. You know this. Some people dream of their own fashion line, I dream about my own font. Truth.  It's been a crazy few days, but as I was checking my google reader in the middle of doing five million things on Tuesday, and I saw Design Sponge had a font day. I should have dropped everything then and there and plopped myself in front of the computer patiently waiting for each post, but alas - real life beckoned me so I am doing it now, at 5:30 a.m.

Love right?! There is so much more, so if you haven't drooled over it already be sure to do so!

Want some more? I quickly pulled a few looks I love for your viewing pleasure because well, I have a font problem.  Enjoy!

P.S. Stay tuned next week - I am going to break down our wedding detail by detail :) Thanks for all the love and questions!

Happy Weekend {+Friday Favs!}

This week was the kind of week where it was Monday and then suddenly it was Friday. You know what I am talking about.  Crammed to the brim with a million things. Short story - I always feel like I should fill my life with everything I possibly can because well, you only get one time to live {I feel like that is a quote or something}. This has been how my brain has worked since I can remember.  This week was a perfect example of that mindset. Boy did I live a lot this week - so much so, I think I need a nap. But who has time for those?! What we do have time for is Friday favs.  Because even when you are making the most of every single minute of your lovely life - there is always time to stop and be inspired.

This Kate Spade inspired wedding shoot featured on The Wedding Chicks from Every Last Detail literally made my day. As Kate Spade's #1 fan {don't try to argue that point} I completely approve of every last detail.

I love anything monogrammed and I love coffee & pie. Perhaps that explains my love for these fabulous gift ideas spotted on With this Ring from Sarah Drake.

I had the pleasure of meeting Amy Atlas at the Martha Stewart Bridal Market party and can I just say she is as sweet as her dessert tables! Down to earth and completely precious. I love how she is featuring guest dessert tables lately - goes to show how she is inspiring so many people. This one is particularly precious from Hello Naomi and Scissors Paper Cake!

{via Amy Atlas}

Last, but certainly not least, our darling Erin from Sparkle & Hay is getting married tomorrow and we couldn't be more excited. I'll be there helping to bring her vision to life {follow me here for updates throughout the day!}, but I just had to give her a little love on her last day as a single lady. Here is one last look at the inspiration board created by Sarah of TRUE Event ... hope it turns out to be everything you wanted and so much more...

Have a fabulous weekend! Miss y'all already!

Martha Stewart Bridal Market Party

Well, one cannot go to a party hosted by Martha Stewart Weddings and not post about it. It has to be against some sort of blogger rule. And to be honest, it was such a fabulous evening I don't even know where to start. So, I'll start at the entrance. Please take a look at the fabulous garland designed by Ashley Meaders. Love her. We happened to ask how they made it and can you believe they cut out and strung each and every piece? That is decor dedication. Love it. And don't even get me started on that chandelier. I want it in my house, even if it would look completely awkward (and take up an entire room). Thanks to Shane Carpenter for capturing the evening so beautifully in your photographs.

Of course the details were just beautiful. I suppose that is to be expected when industry super stars plan a party.  In my head, this is how everyday should look.  Perfect flower arrangements (these by the uber talented Matthew Robbins), descriptive signs to brand the evening, fabulous little details for the guests, and party dresses. Yes, in my mind, everyday should be a Martha Stewart party.
On top of all the lovely decor, what really made it so fabulous was all the fabulous "stations". From cupcakes to gelato to manicures to eyelashes to glitter eye shadow - they had it all covered. I particularly loved this sassy glitter gal from the Glitter Bar.
I always say the most important detail in planning a party is the guest list. It truly makes or breaks an event. Well, let's just say this guest list was literally amazing.  I mean Amy Atlas, Martha Stewart and Darcy Miller all in one picture just screams extremely fab guest list. Screams.  On top of that - you must check out Carte Blanche, the sassy band with loads of talent and style. How adorable are they?
Speaking of fabulous entertainment, Jason from Generation Events was just spectacular. He made it quite easy to dance the night away. Which of course we had to capture in the Smilebooth. A night isn't complete without awkward Smilebooth photos. It just isn't.

All in all, a fabulous evening. It's truly wonderful to be able to share a space for an evening with such inspiring talents...

...And then eat lots of sushi at midnight. Yep, that happened.

Tuesday Shoesday

Hello! I promise I am here, and I have shoes on the brain folks. I also have fabulous Martha Stewart Bridal Market images dancing in my head, but first we must address the matters at hand.  For it is Tuesday and on Tuesday we talk shoes. In honor of team TRUE Event's night out last night - I think these Christian Louboutins are just practically perfect in every way for today's Shoesday.  That ruffle on the back of the shoe makes me weak in the knees (which wouldn't be a good thing if I were trying to actually walk in these shoes...)

Be sure to stop by Swatchbook Weddings, Landlocked Bride, Meant to be Sent, The Demoiselle, Postcards & Pretties, and Brancoprata for more great Tuesday Shoesday picks!

Happy Weekend {+Friday Favs!}

Hello hello Super Burbians! Welcome to Friday. Do you have any fun plans? Or no plans at all (y'all know I love that)...Plans or no plans, I hope this weekend is everything you could wish for. To kick off the weekend in a fabulous way, check out a few of my favorite things from the week we just wrapped up...

I am LOVING the DIY features on Ruffled lately, in particular this gem of an idea...

It may be October and jewel tones are so in, but I am so loving the look of this summery bedroom complete with romantic chandelier. Mark my words, Mr. C and I will have a chandelier once we actually decorate our bedroom.
{Style At Home via Decor8}

Two words: Cupcakes and Burlap. That's all the really needs to be said, although the entire lovely backyard bridal shower on The Sweetest Occasion is just as delightful.

And last but certainly not least, I might just have to whip up something from the recipes for a fall feast Style Me Pretty posted earlier in the week. Did someone say sweet potato soup? Yes Please.

Have a happy weekend! Miss y'all already!

Snarky Cards

Oh these just make me laugh because I know the PERFECT people to send them to! I love snail mail. And apparently I love snarky paper goods seeing how much I loved the luggage tags on Monday.  Perhaps I am in a sassy mood this week?

Happy Weekend {+One Year Blog Anniversary!}

Stop the presses.
{via}
I literally just realized this morning that tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of my blog career! True story! How did I miss that? Perhaps because my life is crazy busy in a wonderful way.  I feel like anniversaries are a good time to reflect and to look forward all at the same time. Looking back, I had no idea I would meet so many neat people through the process. I also had no idea people would actually read my blabbering nonsense or appreciate my love for cake stands. But I found out that there is an entire population of cake stand loving people out there, and boy do I love each and everyone of you.

 {fabulous use of a cake stand via Style Me Pretty}

In a year, Mr. C and I moved to the burbs outside of the burbs - lovingly called the Super Burbs -, got married, I changed jobs, then found my calling and changed careers. All in a year. Crazy right? Little leaps of faith always pay off in my mind...and our move to the Super Burbs was a fabulous leap of faith. Luckily this little blog captured all of that. What was supposed to be a way to keep my family & friends connected actually became more of a way to keep me connected {note: this is what Oprah calls a Light bulb moment}.

{a little Love Shoot teaser from Olive Juice Photography}

I have a feeling this year will be just as eventful.  Through my work with Style Me Pretty and a really exciting announcement I hope to share with you by the end of the year... our life will be anything but dull. Not to mention - I hope to share our wedding in its entirety in the very near future. Believe me, it's worth the wait :)

{a little Wedding teaser from Olive Juice Photography}

Here's to another fabulous year in the Super Burbs!
Cheers

Walk Through a Wedding

Inspiration Board created by Justin and Mary Marantz

Take one look at this fabulous inspiration board by Justin & Mary Marantz, the talented (and adorable) duo behind some of the most fabulous wedding photography, and you KNOW I was in love when I saw it.  I mean, if this board doesn't have Super Burbs written all over it - I don't know what does.  That little lady on the top left actually looks like the little lady (or the little lady's sister) on the top left of the blog! I just love old-school East Coast.

More importantly, Justin & Mary are putting together a walk through a wedding workshop and I get the pleasure of joining Mrs. True of TRUE Event, Mrs. Wesson of Chocolate Creative Design and the lovely Yumiko of Hana Floral Design to help bring this inspiration to life on a table or two tomorrow. How fun does that sound? We'll be sure to keep you posted...

Tuesday Shoesday

Engage 10 just seems like such a fabulous party.  I guess that's what happens when some of the best in the industry gather together. When I saw the party sneak peak on Style Me Pretty yesterday I couldn't help but think of the brides out there planning a perfectly preppy pink & green summer wedding. Well brides, this Tuesday Shoesday I bring you inpsiration Lilly Pulitzer would be proud of...

A Sunday post {believe it!}

Bonus to not being able to do much - finally getting a chance to catch up on all the lovely blogs out there. Twig & Thistle is one of my favorites, and when I saw this post it confirmed my love.  I am obsessed with branding. Wedding branding, company branding, monogram branding - all get me embarrassingly excited.  I am also a sucker for it, and will go to a place with better branding over an equally reputable place {ie: Starbucks vs. Dunkin Donuts}. Branding just shows that careful thought was put into the first impression and every impression afterwards. And well, I like thoughtfulness.

So with all that said, let me just say - I would go to Flour Pot Bakery every.single.day.  Adorable branding at its finest.
